St. George, UT - Dolores Marie Ross Brinkerhoff, 78, was received into heaven’s arms June 29, 2009. Born to Charles Ludwig Ross and Sarah Jane Bellamy Ross on November 18, 1930 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was the youngest of 4 children, the cherished “Dolly” to her loving parents and three protective brothers. Dolores was blessed with tremendous talents. Her knitting, crocheting, needle work, quilts, and cake decorating skills were among many gifts she shared with others. She played the piano and had a beautiful voice that touched everyone who had the privilege to hear. She loved and recognized the beauty in her life, and her homemaking skills created a lovely, warm environment. Beautiful Dolores graduated from Granite High School in 1948, and four years later on May 9, 1952, married the man of her dreams, George Brinkerhoff. Together they made their home in Salt Lake City and began a long and happy life together. Three children were born to them: Robert C. Brinkerhoff (Kim), Linda Marie Brinkerhoff Christensen (Alan-deceased) and Bonnie Lee Brinkerhoff Hobson (Bill). They sealed their family together for eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. Dolores served in her church and especially loved her years working in the Jordan River Temple. She loved her associations with those she served with and appreciated the bond

Darlene Self, age 81, passed away June 29, 2009, in St. George, UT. She was born February 9, 1928 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Harry and Harriet Beatrice Dodworth Porter. She is survived by her sister, Norma Edwards of Petersburg, IL; her sons Richard Simonson and Todd Simonson; 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. During her life she was a waitress and a secretary for the federal government. She graduated from Dixie College while in her 70's and served an LDS mission at the family history center. Memorial services will be held Friday, July 3, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the St. George LDS 26th Ward Chapel, 85 S. 400 E., St. George, UT. Arrangements under the direction of Metcalf Mortuary 435-673-4221. |

Bentonville, AR - Robert Wallace Brown, age 90, passed away Friday, June 26, 2009, in Bentonville, AR., of causes incident to age. He had been living with a daughter and son-in-law. Wallace was born October 31, 1918, in LaJara, Colorado to Thomas and Francis Myrtle Kelly Brown. He was one of 11 children of which he was the last survivor. He married Mabel Louise Sego in Taos, New Mexico on June 19, 1936 and they were married for 66 years. He attended school in that area and after the 8th grade he was needed by his family to help with the farm. He worked at farming until about 1945 when he moved his family to Utah and continued in working for Cache Valley Dairy and the utility company in Smithfield. Wallace moved to the LDS Church Ranch in Florida, or Deseret Farms, in 1951. When he first arrived he helped build homes for other families who would be living there. He then worked on the ranch as a heavy equipment operator, operating a dragline to build huge canals that helped drain the land to make it more usable. He loved woodworking, cabinet making and gardening. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He and his wife served a mission to Western Samoa and in the Washington DC Temple. He is survived by six children: Cleo (Bob) Crowther of Sanford, CO., Arlo (Jonell) Brown of Provo, UT., Alden (Tanya) Brown of Pleasant Grove, UT., Bonnie (Wyman) Satchel of Bentonville, AR., Roger (Jill) Brown of Buckeye, AZ., and Ivan (Darolene) Brown of Mohave Valley, AZ. Perry "Neal" Allred passed away June 25, 2009 in Hurricane, Utah. Neal was born November 24, 1936 to Earl and Hazel Allred. He was raised in Fountain Green, Utah and raised his family in San Diego, CA. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years and married Bonnie Stevens upon his return, later divorced. They had three children. Neal cherished the time he spent with his family in the mountains of Utah. He is survived by siblings, Edice, Susan and Robert, children: Andy, Cathy (Lance King), Darrin and seven grandchildren. His parents, two brothers, Jimmy and Gayle predecease him. A viewing will be held Monday, June 29th at the Hurricane Valley Mortuary, 140 North Main Street, from 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be held Wednesday, July 1st, 11:00 a.m. at the Fountain Green Ward Chapel, 151 South 200 West.
